All students of the New Albany Ballet Company currently enrolled in our summer & fall program are invited to participate in the New Albany Children’s Ballet Theatre’s 2016 Nutcracker performances.
Students who will be enrolled in Primary Ballet Summer & Fall 2016 (Must be 5 by September 1)
Please sign up to be cast as one of our precious Baby Sugar Plums. Baby Sugar Plum rehearsals will be held October and November at a time separate from their class. In mid September, you will visit our website at newalbanyballet.com to find out what cast you are in and view your rehearsal schedule. We will be accepting a limited number of baby sugar plums per show.
Students who will be enrolled in Ballet I Classes Summer & Fall 2016 (must be 6 by September)
Please sign up to be cast as one of our adorable Baby Mice. Rehearsals for Baby Mice will begin in September and will run through December at a time separate from their class . In mid September, you will visit our website at newalbanyballet.com to find out what cast you are in and view your rehearsal schedule. We will be accepting a limited number of mice per show.
All A-level and progressive students need to audition except students in Ballet 1A & Ballet 2A. Those students will be automatically cast as long as your form is turned in. Ballet 2A students do have the opportunity to audition for Lead Baby Mouse if they want to. (see the audition info)
What are your financial obligations?
Your child’s participation includes ballet and character instruction related to their Nutcracker role as well as the cost of rental of a Nutcracker costume and production costs. Each cast member must pay a $50.00 Audition/Placement fee at time of sign up. For those auditioning, this has to be turned in before the dancer can audition. We will assign audition numbers to all who have turned this in.
The additional cost to participate is a fundraising requirement of $100. For those who are interested in fund raising for NACBT, a not for profit organization, you will have opportunities to offset your cost to participate by soliciting advertisements for the playbill or securing donations for NACBT. Three ways you may choose to offset this fee include securing personal tax deductible donations of a minimum of $100, purchasing or selling playbill advertisements at our scheduled rates to be provided later, or soliciting a business donation for $100 or larger. You can also just choose to make a tax deductible donation yourself. Total cost $150. (some can be defrayed by fundraising.)

Dates of Nutcracker 2016:
Dress Rehearsals: December 2 & 3
Performances: December 8 (school performance/partial cast), 9, 10 & 11
Please note that all dancers are required to be at Dress Rehearsal.
Payment of $50 (Audition/Placement fee) is due at sign up.
