
Griset Damas-Roche
Griset Damas-Roche is a Cuban-born professional dancer, choreographer, and educator with more than 35 years of experience in the performing arts. A graduate of the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana, Cuba, she specializes in ballet and Spanish dance, including flamenco, Escuela Bolera, danza estilizada, and castanets. She performed for more than six years as a soloist with Ballet Español de La Habana.
Griset founded her own school in Bogotá, “Griset Damas Escuela de Flamenco”, where she trained more than 3,500 students and collaborated with renowned symphony orchestras and theaters, both as a soloist and with her company, Caña Flamenca. She has taught in Cuba, Colombia, and the United States.
Every summer, Griset continues her professional training in Spain and at Festival Flamenco Albuquerque in New Mexico, the most important flamenco festival in the United States. Believing that dance is a lifelong journey, she continues to study with other master teachers, always seeking to grow as an artist and educator.
